Hash Hedge 1-Stage vs 2-Stage Challenge Rules

By Caleb Osei · Checked 7 October 2026

Hash Hedge — HashHedge as most people type it — sells two routes to the same funded account. It labels the 1-Stage “faster” and the 2-Stage “lower targets”. Both labels are accurate and neither tells you which is harder for you.

The real trade-off for a funded trader

The 1-Stage route asks you to make more money under less room: 10% gained against 6% you may lose, with only 3% of daily movement allowed against you. The ratio of target to drawdown is 10:6 — you must earn more than you are permitted to lose.

The 2-Stage route asks 8% then 6% — 14% in total, more than the 1-Stage’s 10% — but gives you 10% of overall drawdown in the first stage and a 5% daily allowance throughout. The ratio in Stage 1 is 8:10, which is the right way round.

So the 1-Stage is not easier. It is shorter. You reach a funded account after one hurdle instead of two, and after three trading days instead of five, but every day of it is run under a tighter daily limit.

Which route suits which trading style

Take 1-Stage if your strategy has small daily variance and you are confident of a quick 10%. Scalpers and intraday traders who close flat most days have room inside a 3% daily limit.

If you are still deciding whether to use the firm at all, the review and is Hash Hedge legit cover that.

Take 2-Stage if you hold positions overnight, trade volatile assets, or your equity curve moves more than 3% on a normal day. The extra stage costs time; the extra drawdown room is what keeps you in.

The cost points the same way. The 2-Stage is cheaper at every size — $79 against $99 at $5,000, $799 against $999 at $100,000 — and it is the only route that reaches $200,000. Full figures are in what a HashHedge challenge costs.

Trading conditions that apply to both routes

Leverage is capped at 1:5 across all stages and all assets, and the minimum-day rules count a “trading day” as any day on which at least one position was opened. A position opened on Monday and closed on Thursday counts as one day, not four — worth knowing if you are trying to clear a 3- or 5-day minimum while swing trading.

Challenge rules compared in one line

The 1-Stage route is a sprint under a tight daily limit. The 2-Stage route is two shorter hurdles under a looser one. Neither is a soft option, and the cheaper one is the longer one.

Profit share and payout limits are identical on both routes

Nothing about the route changes what you are paid. Both lead to the same funded account, the same published profit split — 80% in the FAQ, up to 90% on the homepage — and the same payout limits of $10,000 per 14 days with a $100 minimum.

Both routes end at the same crypto prop trading account under the same rules.

So the route decision is purely about which rule set you are more likely to survive, not about what you earn afterwards. Full payout terms are in the HashHedge payout rules.

Which funded account sizes each route offers

The 1-Stage route runs from $5,000 to $100,000. The 2-Stage route runs from $5,000 to $200,000. A trader who wants the largest funded account has no choice of route.

Hash Hedge support, the dashboard and the user guide

Rule questions go to the firm, not to us. Hash Hedge publishes a support email, a Telegram support bot, a Telegram community, a Discord server and a chat widget on its own site. Given that a breach permanently locks a challenge, asking before you trade is cheaper than asking afterwards.

Hash Hedge moved challenge purchases into a new dashboard, and publishes a separate user guide covering accounts and payouts. Rule questions are better asked there or through support than guessed at.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hash Hedge 1-Stage challenge easier?

It is shorter, not easier. It asks a 10% target under a 3% daily loss limit and 6% overall, where the 2-Stage gives 5% daily and 10% overall in its first stage.

Which Hash Hedge route is cheaper?

The 2-Stage, at every account size.

Can I get a $200,000 Hash Hedge account on the 1-Stage route?

No. The 1-Stage route stops at $100,000. The $200,000 account exists only on the 2-Stage route.

How many trading days do I need?

Three on the 1-Stage evaluation, five on each 2-Stage stage. A trading day is any day on which at least one position was opened.
